ZEUS'S STORY
So many of you have inquired about Zeus that it seemed appropriate to tell a bit about his background: About three years ago, I was grieving the loss of my faithful Golden Retriever, Kelly. I thought I would never want another dog. Then, one day while reading an on-line newspaper, I saw a link for the Mon-Dak Humane Society. I clicked just to see what was to be seen, and there he was… a little white fur ball with raisin black eyes. He was wearing a jaunty red kerchief and his expression begged …please…take me! It was love at first sight!
Zeus, a Great White Pyrenees, had been left abandoned in a back yard in a city in North Dakota without food or water when his owners packed up and left town. I contacted the shelter that very day and said I would take him. I didn’t know anything about the breed, and was shocked to find out he would get so large! However, the adoption papers were signed and he was mine. I have never regretted that day. Zeus has been a source of great comfort and joy to our lives. He loves his horses and mules (and cats and kittens) and his people, and watches over all of us faithfully.
If someday you find yourself looking for a loving and faithful companion, I hope you will consider a shelter dog too.
